This is a key role focused on strengthening safe working practices, leadership capability, and compliance standards across a national FM operation. You’ll play a central role in developing our people—and will be instrumental in our ambition to become an IOSH-accredited training centre.

About the Role

As a Health, Safety & Leadership Trainer, you’ll deliver a blend of technical health & safety training and leadership development programmes, ensuring our teams are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to perform safely and effectively.

You’ll work closely with operational and support teams to design training that is practical, engaging, and aligned with both legislation and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Training Design & Delivery

  • Design and deliver health, safety, and leadership training programmes across multiple levels
  • Facilitate classroom, virtual (MS Teams), and blended learning sessions
  • Develop training materials, toolkits, and assessment resources aligned with best practice

Learning & Development

  • Conduct training needs analyses and recommend appropriate interventions
  • Support leadership capability through coaching, mentoring, and facilitation
  • Contribute to the development of IOSH-accredited training programmes

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure all training meets regulatory, organisational, and accreditation requirements
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance data
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of H&S legislation and leadership methodologies

Coordination & Systems

  • Maintain accurate training records using the LMS system
  • Coordinate training schedules with internal teams and stakeholders
  • Support the delivery of wellbeing, behavioural safety, and leadership initiatives

About You

Qualifications

  • Recognised Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent)
  • Training qualification (Level 3 Award in Education & Training (AET) or equivalent)
  • Leadership or management qualification (desirable)

Skills & Experience

  • Experience within Facilities Management, Engineering, or Property environments
  • Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and compliance
  • Experience delivering training in a workplace or commercial environment (desirable)
  • Understanding of key FM risk areas (e.g. asbestos, legionella, working at height, permits, contractor management)
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design
  • Confident facilitator with strong presentation and engagement skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement ability
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient in digital learning platforms and Microsoft Office
