About The Role

We are seeking a versatile and customer-focused Mobile Electrician to join our Regional Mobile Engineering Team covering Birmingham and the surrounding areas.

In this varied role, you will play a key part in the delivery of both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of commercial properties. The successful candidate will have a strong electrical background, with the ability to undertake general building services maintenance across multiple disciplines when required.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys working autonomously, building strong client relationships, and delivering high-quality maintenance services within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out statutory, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks across a diverse property portfolio.
  • Diagnose faults and undertake repairs across a range of building services systems, with a primary focus on electrical maintenance.
  • Complete minor installation and small works activities as required.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual KPIs and SLAs.
  • Maintain excellent communication with clients, customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, providing regular updates on works and service delivery.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, striving for 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical advice and support to customers and colleagues when required.
  • Assist in preparing quotations by identifying labour, materials, and time requirements for minor works.
  • Ensure accurate completion of service reports, documentation, and timesheets using the company's CAFM system via tablet technology.
  • Monitor material and resource usage to ensure cost-effective service delivery and value for the client.
  • Work closely with Managers, Lead Engineers, Account Support Teams, and specialist subcontractors to ensure maintenance activities are completed to the highest standards.
  • Take ownership of the quality and workmanship of all tasks undertaken.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota and provide emergency response support when required.

About You

Minimum Qualifications, Certifications and Training required
  • Electrical Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification or equivalent
  • City & Guilds BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • City & Guilds 2391 Test and Inspect Electrical Qualification or equivalent (Desirable)
  • Full Driving License
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience for this role
  • Good understanding of modern office software. Experience of working with asset/work management systems such as MAXIMO / CAFM systems on Android tablets.
  • 2 years previous experience within similar environment and in particular across area multi sites and multi discipline service delivery.
  • 1 years’ experience in customer facing outsourcing environment.
  • Ability to manage priorities in line with business need
