About the Role

Atlas Workplace Services is seeking an experienced and driven IFM Contract Manager (Hard Services) to lead the delivery of integrated facilities management services on a prestigious, single-site customer contract near Oxford.

This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of Hard FM services, whilst overseeing wider integrated FM functions including cleaning and security. Managing a team of site-based engineers and specialist subcontractors, you will ensure all contract obligations, service levels, and KPIs are consistently achieved.

Reporting to the Contract Director, you will act as their deputy when required and play a pivotal role in maintaining excellent client relationships, operational performance, and commercial success across the contract. 

Key Responsibilities Summary

Contract & Client Management

  • Lead the delivery of integrated hard FM services, ensuring full compliance with contractual obligations, KPIs, SLAs, and customer expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders while driving continuous improvement and service excellence.
  • Oversee maintenance operations including planned, reactive, remedial, and project works, ensuring efficient and cost-effective delivery.

Operational Leadership

  • Drive service innovation, operational improvements, and customer-focused solutions that enhance the workplace experience and add value to the client.
  • Provide technical leadership, supporting the resolution of complex building services issues and ensuring best-practice maintenance strategies are adopted.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and reviews to identify improvement opportunities and maintain high service standards.

Customer Experience & Business Growth

  • Foster a culture of service excellence, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor service performance against client expectations and contractual requirements.
  • Identify and support opportunities for contract growth, additional services, and increased self-delivery solutions.

People Management

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a multidisciplinary site team, embedding company values and performance expectations.
  • Manage recruitment, performance, training, succession planning, and employee development to ensure a highly skilled and engaged workforce.
  • Promote a positive team culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and exceptional customer service.

Resource & Asset Management

  • Optimise workforce productivity and resource utilisation to maximise service effectiveness and value for money.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are delivered in line with SFG20 and industry best practice.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives and support environmental objectives across the contract.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, statutory, and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records and promote a strong safety culture across all service lines.
  • Lead incident investigations, risk management activities, and the resolution of any health and safety concerns.

Supplier Management

  • Manage specialist suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, service delivery, and value for money.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement through effective contract management.

Financial Management

  • Hold full responsibility for the Hard Services P&L, budgets, forecasts, and financial performance of the contract.
  • Manage project costing, quotations, payment applications, commercial risk, and profitability.
  • Produce detailed financial, operational, and performance reports for both the client and internal stakeholders.

Business Support

  • Support business development activities, contract bids, and client site visits.
  • Work collaboratively with internal functions including Service Desk, HR, Health & Safety, Commercial, and Contract Support teams to deliver best-in-class FM services.

About You

Qualification, Certifications and Training
  • Demonstrable trade qualifications and experience in a M&E discipline.
  • Accredited Health and Safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely.
Knowledge, Specific Role Skills and Experience
  • Leadership experience – 3 years’ + experience in a similar environment providing multi-discipline service delivery.
  • A proven track record of company policy and procedure management and reviewing, implementing effective change.
  • Financial control co-ordination, including P&L responsibility and financial targets.
  • Internal report and performance data production and presentation.
  • 3 years + experience of Corporate Customer direct management, including producing customer reports and hosting performance review meetings.
  • Experience of using management information to support operational decision-making.
  • People management experience of large teams of 20+.
  • Proven track record of auditing service delivery.
  • 3+ Years Management of a Hard FM or Multi Service Operation.
  • 3 years’ experience of working with CAFM systems such as Planon or similar Computer Aided Facilities Management systems.
  • Knowledge of statutory regulations associated with all building services and Permits to Work systems in highly regulated and controlled environments.
  • Experience of working to SFG20 standards for planned preventative maintenance.
  • Proficient in presentation skills and MS office.
