About the Role

Atlas Workplace Services is seeking a Health, Safety & Leadership Trainer to design, deliver and evaluate engaging learning programmes that promote safe working practices, effective leadership and workforce capability across the business.

This is a varied role that combines the delivery of health and safety and leadership training with learning administration, digital content development and learning platform management. You will play a key role in ensuring employees have access to relevant, practical and engaging learning experiences that support business objectives, compliance requirements and The Atlas Way.

Working closely with managers and internal stakeholders, you will ensure learning solutions are aligned to operational needs, organisational standards and regulatory requirements.

The role is home based but will require regular travel to company offices and client sites across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deliver health, safety and leadership training programmes for a wide range of audiences and competency levels.
  • Create and deliver digital learning content alongside presentation-based and classroom learning.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, presentations, activities and e-learning content using appropriate authoring tools.
  • Facilitate classroom-based, virtual and blended learning programmes in line with approved learning standards.
  • Coordinate and administer training activities, including bookings, attendance records, completion data and compliance reporting.
  • Support the administration, development and ongoing management of the Totara learning platform, including course creation, learning programmes, enrolments, user records and reporting.
  • Conduct training needs analyses to identify skills gaps and recommend appropriate development solutions.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments and performance data, implementing improvements where required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and safety legislation, leadership development methodologies and learning best practice.
  • Ensure all training activities comply with organisational, regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Support leadership development through coaching, mentoring and facilitation.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to coordinate learning activities and delivery schedules.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to ensure learning supports company priorities, standards and culture.

About You

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or equivalent.
  • Recognised Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable).
  • Formal qualification in leadership or management development (desirable).

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working within facilities management, property management or maintenance engineering environments.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development in health and safety and/or learning and development.
  • Experience delivering leadership or management development training.
  • Demonstrable experience designing training programmes and assessing learning outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to design engaging and effective learning materials.
  • Experience administering learning platforms such as Moodle or Totara.
  • Experience using Articulate 360 to create digital learning content.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital learning platforms.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience delivering technical health and safety training in a workplace or commercial training environment.
  • Knowledge of key FM and hard services risk areas, including asbestos, legionella/water hygiene, working at height, permits, contractor management and behavioural safety.
